When Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge, it was the first bite that condemned them to die. … Every bite after the first taste is irrelevant. They didn’t get to live by ceasing from ‘habitual eating’ of the fruit, just as you don’t get life by ceasing from ‘habitual sin.’
Your first sin, and only your first sin, is what dooms you.
Consider this diagram:
+--------------------------------------------------------+ | DIAGRAM OF THE RESULTS OF HABITUAL SIN | +===================+===================+================+ | sin / yes / no | number of sins | result | +===================+===================+================+ | Have you sinned? | Yes, one time. | ==> HELL | +-------------------+------------------------------------+ | Have you sinned? | Yes, 100 times. | ==> HELL | +-------------------+------------------------------------+ | Have you sinned? | Yes, 1000 times. | ==> HELL | +-------------------+------------------------------------+ | Have you sinned? | Yes, 99999 times. | ==> HELL | +-------------------+------------------------------------+ | Have you sinned? | No, never! | ==> liar! HELL | +-------------------+------------------------------------+
Notice that the only sin that counts is your first sin, or the first time you lie and claim to have never sinned. It is that first sin that condemns you. Even a million sins after that first sin has no effect on the outcome. Instantly we can see that arguments about ‘habitual sin’ bringing spiritual death are specious. It is your first sin that brings death. Every sin after the first has no effect thereafter. To break the law in one point is to break the whole law. Once you are a law-breaker, you can’t go back to the law for pardon. Any attempt to achieve pardon by going back to the law and pretending to keep it is blasphemy! Paul said we are to have faith apart from the circumcision, which is the law!
Thus when liars claim that you must ‘repent of sinning’ to be saved, they are teaching you a false gospel and denying grace under Jesus Christ. Since your first sin condemns you, your first bite of the fruit of good and evil brings your death, you are dead in trespasses and sins and no amount of law keeping will change that status and sentence of death.
Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge which God commanded them to not do. He said if they eat of the fruit of that tree they would surely die. So when they took of the fruit, and ate of it, at what point were they disobedient and subject to death? Was it at the first bite, or did they need to “habitually eat of the tree” to die?
Consider this diagram:
+--------------------------------------------------------+ | RESULTS OF HABITUAL EATING OF TREE OF KNOWLEDGE | +===================+===================+================+ | eat / yes / no | number of bites | result | +===================+===================+================+ | Have you eaten? | Yes, one bite. | ==> DEATH | +-------------------+------------------------------------+ | Have you eaten? | Yes, 100 bites. | ==> DEATH | +-------------------+------------------------------------+ | Have you eaten? | Yes, 1000 bites. | ==> DEATH | +-------------------+------------------------------------+ | Have you eaten? | Yes, 99999 bites. | ==> DEATH | +-------------------+------------------------------------+ | Have you eaten? | I don't eat. | ==> liar! DIE! | +-------------------+------------------------------------+
When Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge, it was the first bite that condemned them to die. It wasn’t the tenth, or thousandth bite that brought death. It wasn’t ‘habitual eating’ that doomed them. It was the first taste that doomed them. Every bite after the first taste is irrelevant. They didn’t get to live by ceasing from ‘habitual eating’ of the fruit, just as you don’t get life by ceasing from ‘habitual sin.’ Compare the two diagrams. They show the same principle of repentance. Repentance is not about deeds. It is about the attitude toward God, which is the beacon, or flaming sword, that marks the way to the tree of life.
The only way to life at that point is to eat of the tree of life, which is faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God. Faith alone, apart from the works of the law, divorced from the works of the law, is the only way to life. Thus we are saved by grace through faith, and not of works. The dogma of ‘habitual sin’ is heresy and saves no one. Anyone who is telling you that ‘habitual sin’ will send you to hell is teaching you a false gospel. Your first sin, or your first bite, is what dooms you. Every sin, and every bite thereafter has no effect on your status as a law breaker.
You can’t eat from both trees at the same time and have both life and death. You have to choose one tree and one kind of fruit. A bride can’t have two husbands. You can’t marry Moses AND Jesus. You are either married to Moses, under the condemnation of the law, or you are married to Jesus, under the justification of life. No man can serve two masters. He will hate one and cling to the other. A man can’t serve life and death. He must choose one.
The nation of Judea under Pharisee rule rejected Jesus as the bridegroom of Israel and chose Moses. Their nation was destroyed. This is a lesson for all other nations. When someone comes and offers the tree of life to your nation, and your nation rejects it, and says they will have their tree of law and order to save them, woe to that nation! You cannot serve God and mammon. You must choose one.
The book of Genesis prophesied the law of Moses when it described the tree of knowledge of good and evil. To eat of that tree is to be condemned by the law of sin (good vs. evil). Thus it is written, “The wages of sin is death.” It is written that by one man, Adam, all die, and by one man, Jesus Christ, all men are made alive. Adam represents those eating the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Jesus represents those eating of the tree of life. Repentance is not about ‘ceasing from sinning’ but about a sea change in your spiritual diet. Instead of eating the moldy bread of religion and politics, you must eat the bread from heaven. Instead of drinking the wine of gluttony and fornication with the religious harlot and her political pimps, you must drink the wine of Christ’s blood.
The book of Genesis also prophesied the tree of life, which when eaten, causes one to live forever. Thus it is written, “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
One cannot eat of the tree of life until the work of death from the law (crucifixion) has been complete. Then the tree of life can be offered freely to all. Jesus accomplished that, as the book of Genesis told us more than 1000 years prior to the crucifixion.
This is the true meaning of Genesis chapters 1-3. Primordial creation interpretions and creationism are all nonsensical eisegesis. The people proffering these modernist interpretations are still eating from the tree of knowledge, ever learning, and never coming to a knowledge of the truth.
What does this mean for us in this age?
It means that God established salvation for all nations at the cross. In the turning of the ages he will snatch away those who believe in him to eternal life, until there are no unbelievers left, and all will believe, and stop trying to establish righteousness by law, and instead have righteousness by faith. All authority, rule, and power will be put down, and no man anywhere on earth or in heaven will have any religious authority to command or govern any other man, for all will be governed by Jesus Christ and God’s Spirit.
In the meantime every religious oppressor, and political oppressor, who believes and loves the lies of power and authority, will have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, until their own messianic pretentions are burned out of them, and all submit to faith in Jesus Christ. You can not create righteousness by any operation of political or religious laws, creeds, rules, practices, or dogmas. You can only create righteousness by eating from the Tree of Life in the middle of the Paradise of God.
